Windows Server 2008 is the latest product of Microsoft Server Operating System. It replaces the previous 2003 version that has been available for 5 years. Built based on Windows NT 6.0, Windows Server has similar code base with Windows Vista, the desktop version, thus shares same functionality and architecture.
