Google Maps untuk Jakarta lama tidak di-update

Iseng-iseng dengan browser uber-hype, Google Chrome, saya mencoba menjelajahi sejumlah tempat dengan Google Maps. Enaknya browser baru Google ini, loading Maps saya rasakan lebih cepat dan smooth dari browser yang lain. Saya coba mengarahkan ke daerah Karet tempat saya bekerja saat ini.

Ok, saya menemukan gedung tempat saya bekerja. Tapi saya merasa ada keanehan dari gambar yang ditampilkan. Selidik punya selidik, ternyata gedung Citywalk Sudirman yang berada di depan itu belum ada dan masih berupa tanah lapang! Citywalk ini memang relatif baru, digunakan mulai awal tahun 2008 ini. Menurut situsnya, gedung ini mulai ditawarkan sejak tahun 2005. Bisa jadi saat itu masih tanah lapang seperti detil di Google Maps.

Kesimpulan awal, apa benar data di Google Maps itu menggunakan data tahun 2005? 3 tahun yang lalu? Lama sekali ya. Saya belum sempat mengkonfirmasi dengan data gambar yang lain. Ada yang bisa memberikan sumbang saran? Atau ada yang bisa memberikan sugesti ke Google untuk meng-update peta Jakartanya?

Weather and time checking

A complete information about weather and time will be displayed. Beside time and weather, we can get more information about humidity, temperature, even Jakarta’s geodata.

Still don’t convinced about the information provided? Let’s take a look for another city’s time and weather. Take a look for New York condition instead. In the main page, go for North America section. Next click New York. Well, the site will inform you that New York is very sunny there with 21 Celcius degrees in temperature. Wind speed is 8 km/hours and visibility is 12.9 km. The information is very complete and reliable.

One more thing, If you don’t know the exact location of the place you aim to see, just use the search bar on the top of the page. Good example is when you look for weather and time situation in Georgia (US state), instead of conflict country near Rusia.
