I am lucky enough to be able to study computer science intensively in college. Four years in my time is spent studying Tannenbaum books about Operating System, networking, and distribution system. Not only that, I need to learn implementing various programming languages, like Java, C, and SQL for databases. Really a hefty time back then. At least for common people, I am recognized to save their time fixing their computer’s little problem, although I myself don’t really interested now in programming subjects.

Yet, there must be someone out there that are intending to know more about programming but unable to attend formal courses, due to age or time. I have some friends, who come from different majors, but really interested about programming language, algorithm, networking, or databases. For them, I recommend opening online computer training, right from their own notebook or PC.

Most computer courses, including via Internet, offer practical usage of operating Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office collection, authorizing Linux server, or even heavy one like Oracle databases. Of course not all are streamed from Internet, since the Internet bandwidth is not always as reliable and fast as we want to. We can order collection of CD-ROMs contained tutorial series. Whether we are located in Internet savvy area or poor connection area, that will not prevent us on learning new knowledge in computer and programming sector.
