How Good You Are Listed in Google

After reading Budi’s post, I try to test the fun of GoogleFight. According to Wikipedia, Googlefight is a simple World Wide Web service that allows users to compare the number of search results returned by the Google search engine for two given queries. The results are displayed graphically in a mixed flash and javascript animation.

First I fill in the Indonesia vs Malaysia fight. It returns successfully great and the winner goes to the first one with the difference near 70 thousand results. Next I try another variable. I recommend the battle of Jennie S. Bev vs Priyadi :D Surprisingly, Mbak Jennie outperforms Priyadi by almost double. Way to go, Mbak.

Want another fight? What about Microsoft’s Bill Gates against Apple’s Steve Jobs? You surely want to check the result. Jobs is highly profiled much more. It is not really surprising since Jobs as Apple’s CEO is still previewed in front of public, introducing the latest OS, the latest MacBook, the iPod, the iPhone; while Gates as MS’ Chairman and Chief Architect has already gave these kind of jobs to Steve Balmer.

Last but not least, how about the result of myself? Hmm, I hardly try to find the equal opponent. Finally, I try term Amir Karimuddin vs Aria Rajasa. So what is the outcome??

  5. […] is a Web site that can trace your listings with Google. Amir tried my name and Priyadi: “Jennie S. Bev vs. Priyadi.” Guess who won? Very funny game, […]

  6. wakakak rese abis lo.. blogger komersial juga bukann gw :P

  7. Tapi kalo coba Kuy vs Amir Karimuddin si masih menang gw jauh wekeke. Tapi itu ga adil si mengingat Ga gw doang yang pake nama Kuy. Ok dee, kl gitu gw mulai sekarang addressing sebagai Aria Rajasa aja :P

  8. @Kuy
Wikipedia said Kuy is one of the most important languages of the Mon-Khmer family. Definitely a tribe name will outperform my own name :D

However, your parent site is listed anyway in #5, despite of you only use Kuy for your blog directory.

  9. I think why steve jobs “outperformed” bill gates by more than double is because the word “jobs” is more searched compared to “gates”, “steve”, or “bill”.

The result will be different if you use “steve jobs” vs. “bill gates” (use with quotation mark). Still steve jobs is more popular, but not at that high difference (approx. 21 mill vs 18 mill).

Try this quotation mark for “aria rajasa” v. “amir karimuddin”.. ;-)

    have a nice weekend.

  10. @fau
You got the point there ;)
If I check at Google itself, the term “Aria Rajasa” resulted 70 items, while “Amir Karimuddin” gave 64 results. Quite close though :D
